A latest study found that restricting the vape flavors to tobacco will reduce the use of adolescents by 70%.
This study shows that the effect of cancellation of vape flavors such as fruits is significant. This will greatly reduce the attractiveness of adolescents to these rechargeable vape and disposable vape pens.
Nearly 40%(38.8%) respondents said that if they can only choose tobacco and mint vape, they will give up the use of vape. This includs both rechargeable vape and disposable vape.
If tobacco flavor is the only option for vape, this proportion will soar to 70.8%. The research results were published on the Journal of Studies on Alcohol and Drugs.
The survey target uses at least once a day within 30 days before filling out the questionnaire. The questionnaire involves the vape flavors list they usually use, including tobacco, mint, cool mint, fruity ice and fruit/sweet flavor.
Compared to other taste preferences, young people who like fruits or sweets vape flavor are more sensitive to taste restrictions.
The current vape flavors and dazzling packaging in the market makes vape pen more tempting. The teenagers are potential victims of these products.
In the long run, we need to provide the adults an alternatives to quit smoking. At the same time, we also need to protect the adolescents’ health, so as to achieve real public health goals.
