Recently, vape manufacturer and top vape brand ELFBAR, partnering with the Scottish Grocers Federation (SGF), provides 1000 disposable vapes recycling bins in Scotland.
This program begins in mid-October. These 1,000 free vape recycling bins will be installed at convenience stores across Scotland.
Many vape retailers and outlets in Scotland already provide free used vape take-back services. The organizer says that the campaign will “significantly increase” the expansion of disposable vapes recycling.
Disposable vape, also called single use vape, can cause environmental problem if the vape users dispose the used vapes at will. And the batteries inside the vape may cause fires if not disposed correctly. Therefore, the vape users must handle the used vapes in the right way.
The research from Zero Waste Scotland estimates that Scotland throw away 26 million disposable vapes every year. More seriously, 10% among them are littered, and half of these disposable vapes are disposed incorrectly.
“SGF welcomes the opportunity to work in partnership with ELFBAR to help retailers play their part tackling the environmental damage done by single-use, disposable vaping products.” Says by Dr Pete Cheema OBE, SGF chief executive.
Eve Peters, director of government affairs and spokesperson for ELFBAR in the UK says that ELFBAR is delighted to be working with SGF in the development and delivery of this vital campaign to increase recycling points for used disposable vapes in the convenience sector across Scotland.
As a vape manufacturer, VPFIT welcome this program. It is an important and useful way to help solving the environmental impacts of single use vapes.
In addition, recycle the disposable vapes demonstrates the industry’s commitment to sustainability and responsible waste management. It encourages vape manufacturers and retailers to take responsibility for the end-of-life disposal of their products. Moreover, it is also promoting a more sustainable and environmentally conscious vaping industry.
Therefore, we call on and support more vape manufacturers and vape brands to participate in the recycling of disposable vapes.
