On April 11th, Moscow time. The State Duma voted in a plenary meeting on Tuesday on a bill to regulate the circulation of vape, prohibiting the sale of vapes to minors and restricting the use of additives in the manufacturing of vape products.
The Chairman of the State Duma, Vyacheslav Volodin, stated that the government is ready to amend the Russian Criminal Code to increase the penalties for illegal sales of vape and punish those who violate the law, which has tightened the requirements for selling vapes.
He added that the National Duma will also revise relevant tax laws to curb the consumption of vape.
Volodin said. “We will revise the tax legislation, which will make vape unavailable in principle. Considering that we are members of the Eurasian economic union and have undertaken some responsibilities of the Eurasian economic union, we need to consider this factor. However, we will continue to make quite effective decisions on the issue of protecting citizens’ health.”
