According to the official announcement of Quebec, the second largest province in Canada, the province will ban the sale of flavored vape pen products other than tobacco flavor (or tasteless).
At the same time, the sale of bottled e-liquid with a capacity of over 30 ml and vape devices with a capacity of more than 2 ml is prohibited.
The vape flavor ban was announced in a draft released in April this year. According to the Quebec Vaping Rights Coalition, more than 30,000 Quebec residents have commented on the proposed ban. However, according to the reports, the Ministry of Health has not made any changes to the regulations.
Quebec is Canada’s second most populous province with 8.5 million residents. It has become the largest province to impose a flavor vape ban. Four other provinces and territories — Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, New Brunswick and the Northwest Territories — have already implemented flavor bans. What’s more, Nunavut has passed a ban but has yet to set an implementation date . Three other provinces — British Columbia, Ontario and Saskatchewan — have restricted flavored vape products selling to adults-only outlets like vape shops.
