The Kentucky Legislature is dealing with multiple issues related to vapes this month. One involves what vaping products retailers can sell.
Bill SB 344 requires vape manufacturers to register with the state government. And the government will publish a catalog of products that meet the standards.

However, at a committee hearing, some vape shop owners expressed concerns about the upcoming state directory law. They think it would be too restrictive on their businesses. Democratic Senator David Yates also opposed it.
“Cause what will happen is all your places that abide by and do what they’re supposed to do…that’s right…we’ll restrict that. But are we gonna have the people to enforce all the different places that do sell the bad products? So, what we really should be doing is focusing on enforcement.”
Besides, Sen. Brandon Storm, R-London, says many vape shops are already struggling to meet any new sales requirements. With less than a week to go until the ten-day veto period, the lawmaker hopes the bill will be considered and passed in the House.
Another bill deals with student use of vapes in schools.
