China Vape exports bucked the trend and rose by 2.36% in Sep 2023

On October 20, according to data from the China Customs, the export value of China vape in September were US$898 million. That’s a month-on-month increase of 2.36% from US$877 million in the previous month, and a year-on-year decrease of 8.29%. This interrupts the continuous decline in monthly export volume since May this year. Disposable vapes are the main export categories.

The followings are some main data analysized by VPFIT, the top vape manufacturer from China.

Viewing from the overall China vape exports data, China exported US$898 million of vapes in September, an increase of 2.36% month-on-month, and a year-on-year decrease of 8.29%.

According to the data, China exports vapes to 125 countries in total. Among these countries, the largest export volume of China vapes is the United States and the country with the smallest export volume is Singapore.

Moreover, in September, new trading partners of Chinese vapes included Djibouti, Benin, Macau, Reunion, Guinea, Senegal, Madagascar, Curacao, Marshall Islands, Bahamas, and El Salvador.

In addition, the trading partners that have decreased importing vapes from China include Zimbabwe, Taiwan, Zambia, Mauritania, Mozambique, Mali, Angola, Papua New Guinea, Venezuela, Tunisia, and American Samoa.

The United States remains the largest exporting country of China vapes, but its export share has declined slightly.

In September, China exported US$256 million of vape devices to the United States and US$8.26 million to Belgium. The top 20 exporting countries accounted for 88.08% of total exports, an increase of 1% from 87.08% last month.

Here are some changes of Chinese vapes export to the main countries:

  • Among the top five exporting countries, the proportion of China vape exports to the United States in total exports decreased by 0.27% from the previous month.
  • In addition, the proportion of China’s vapes export to South Korea in total exports decreased by 0.08% from the previous month.
  • Moreover, the proportion of vapes from China exports to the Netherlands in total exports decreased by 0.56% from the previous month.
  • The proportion of China vape exports to the United Kingdom in total exports increased by 1.08% from the previous month.
  • The proportion of vapes that China exports to Germany in total exports increased by 1.81% from the previous month.

 

Disposable vapes are the main export categories.

Among the two main product categories of vape exports, products that do not contain tobacco or reconstituted tobacco and contain nicotine, which are not burned and smoked, account for a high proportion, reaching 77.72%. This category mainly includes nicotine-containing disposable vapes, closed cartridges and bottled e-liquids.

Vapes and similar personal atomizing devices accounted for 22.28%. This category mainly includes nicotine-free smoking sets, vape accessories and other products.
