2022 Global Tobacco Development Report - Vape Products Increase 20% in 2022

In 2022, the growth of vape pen products gets a huge accelerate. The global sales volume of vape devices and vape related products is US$23.65 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.0%.

On June 10th, China National Economic Research Institute (Policy Research Office) released the article “2022 Global Vape Development Report (Part 1)”.

According to the report, in 2022, as the control of the Covid-19 tends to be relaxed, social economy and daily life has gradually return to the right track. Therefore, the tobacco consumption also tend to stable in general.

Euromonitor International’s forecast data shows that the world’s cigarette sales have declined slightly. At the same time, the growth rate of heated cigarette sales has also decline. However, the growth rate of vape pens and vape devices sales has rebounded.

From the perspective of sub-categories, the total sales volume of open vape pens and refillable vapes in 2022 is US$8.72 billion, an increase of 8.1% year-on-year.

In addition, the sales of closed vape devices in 2022 is US$14.93 billion, an increase of 28.2% year-on-year.

The sales of replaceable pod vape and disposable vapes increase for 82.9% and 17.1% respectively. And the sales volume of disposable vape pens in 2022 is 2.55 billion US dollars, which nearly doubled year-on-year.

Viewing from the market perspective, the United States, the United Kingdom, and Canada rank among the top three in vapes and vape devices sales.
